12 inch meade lightbridge

12 inch meade lightbridge
3 lockable wheels on the bottom of dob box(cost about $100 to put in)

John Dobson's simple and portable design made large telescopes available to the average amateur astronomer.
The truss tube design models, allow enormous scopes to break down into easily portable sections.
Meade has produced a good quality large truss-tube scope.I can transport this scope in my small car.

The Dobsonian mount gives you complete freedom to move it around the sky at your own pace.
The standard scope is completely manual and moves freely and silently thanks to the azimuth roller bearings and felt-lined altitude bearings.

It's not just a big telescope. It's a big telescope that goes anywhere. The LightBridge truss-dobs from Meade take down and set up quickly so you can take one of these massive windows on the universe out to your favorite dark sky locations with ease.
Meade's proven truss design allows the telescope to be fully dismantled in minutes and packs away into even the smallest cars. When reassembled the triangular truss poles perform as designed ensuring the telescope won't "Flex" ruining critical alignment.

Diffraction Limited Optics (Bk7 optical glass): Meade optics consistently outperform telescopes of similar and larger aperture. Owners of the Lightbridge telescopes regularly marvel how detailed, crisp and full of contrast the views are through these telescopes.
• Meade Optical Coatings: Aluminum Coatings with durable silicon dioxide over coat provides bright images full of detail.
• Dual speed 10:1 Crayford Focuser 2" with 1.25" Adapter: Smooth precise focusing without backlash is achieved with this classic design. A unique focus tension knob and focus lock design gives complete control over focus. Now includes 2 speed 10:1 fine focus adjustment for precise focus at high powers.
Specifications: Aperture: 302mm
Focal length (f/#): 1500mm (f/5)
Limiting magnitude: 14.9
Resolving power: 0.38 arc sec.

I have small aperture refractors but this is the telescope i turn to when i want to view galaxies and deep sky objects. You simply need large apeture to view certain objects like nebula and star clustuers.you'll see more cloud bands on jupiter with 12 inches.Break through the small apeture limitations of refractors.

You can see Saturn with its rings of course including the Cassini division. Saturn has a lovely sandy beach colour with this scope. You’ll love the image of Saturn.
Jupiter shows the great red spot and cloud belts and the Galilean moons.
Uranus is a lovely greenish blue, but you wont see Uranus as anything other than a very small disc.
Deep Sky (the real strength of this scope): M42 Orion Nebula opens right up and shows wondrous wispy threads of gas cloud. Plenty of detail here. M31 Andromeda Galaxy, in good seeing is great and fun to look at. There is enough detail in there to gaze at it for ages; it just seems to go on and on.
The Pleiades is just beautiful and jumps right out at you

Its has had argo navis put in but has been removed. There are holes on the dobsonian mount but not on the telescope itself. This doesn't effect viewing.

It comes with a laser guide scope which had replaced the original finderscope. The mirror is in good condition .Its always been covered when not in use so that dust won't get in.
