My DIY roll of shed Observatory

G'day

Im a bit of an ATM and after building my tracking horse shoe mount I find its a bit big to cart in and out every night so I've picked a spot out in the paddock to build a shed for it, all the wood is Cypress pine that I managed to grab from the local saw mill scrap heap, so far it hasn't cost any thing

Im not real worried if it isn't the best design or spot for it, if it doesn't work I'll just build another one

Anyway I just thought I would post some pics and encourage anyone to have a go and building them selves a shed for there telescope. It really isn't that hard and it's great to have every thing ready to run at a minutes notice.

thanks for looking

PS. The mount works a treat, if any one is interested just let me know and I'll post a tread in the DIY section. I can get 1 min unguided subs at 1200mm.

Very interesting all-round, I would be interested in the mount as well, I tried and failed on a similar design but the large counter rotation looks to be the answer to my issue.

Good luck with the the obs as well, will keep an eye out, look like an easy build for a rental place like mine.

Looks great, Jo! Your tracking mount looks rather neat - yes, please post another thread about it.

I was just having a look for my thread on a wedge mount and I believe your mount has the answer to get mine to work.

Tis a shame i pulled apart most of mine already but renewed inspiration

Thanks Neb, had some stability issues that caused a problem, but the large round drive disc maybe what is missing on mine.
