TAken from the TOS Note the first dot point FYI http://www.iceinspace.com.au/tos.html

3. Posting Topics
Please avoid topics about global warming, race, politics or religion. These can be very sensitive topics, and people are usually very polarised about these issues; it can be very easy to take things the wrong way, creating arguments. Threads about these topics often end badly - usually being locked, with posts being deleted, or with people being upset.
Threads about these topics may be locked or deleted, especially if they are intended to simply incite a reaction or cause arguments.
Please keep threads on-topic and avoid spam or "chit-chat" within the specialised forums. The "General Chat" forum should be used for all off-topic posts that don't belong in the specialised forums. Off-topic means posts about stuff that isn't related to astronomy.
"Spam" is a post with no useful content, no purpose except to get other people to reply with spam, and to increase your post count. Spam is not welcome anywhere on the forum.
When creating a new thread, please ensure the thread title is descriptive of the content of the post.
If a thread is deleted, posting a "Why was my thread deleted?" topic will likely also be deleted. PM a moderator if you wish to discuss the action taken.
Goodbye posts (posts seeking attention when you are abandoning the forums) are forbidden and will likely be deleted. People come and people go. If you need to go—for whatever reason—just go. No parades needed.

note the first dot point

Ok, fair enough...

Consistency is a nice trait:

"When creating a new thread, please ensure the thread title is descriptive of the content of the post. "

That's because astronomy is way more interesting than the "P" word.

This is more Days of Our Lives than politics. As if there's not enough bad reality TV on at the moment!

Cheers

Back last week from 5 weeks in Europe. No AU politics on US/UK/CH/DK/SE/NO TV. The only AU news we got was reading the SMH on the iPad.
For that matter in CH only Bloomberg, CNN and BBC were in English, and my German (Zurich) and Heather's French (Geneva) aren't up to scratch.

Holding your tongue...... That would be a first.

Seven Weeks..........Thankful, so are we.

Please note I used smiley faces so it's just humour.

I have seven weeks in the US, so I don't expect to hear much about Australia, and I won't be reading my normal news sites whilst away. I will just be in denial for awhile!

Got canned alright, no sense of humor that is all I can say, I didn't even mention names or the word politics, and someone took it upon themselves to interpret my post as political when I was only referring to the recent Wizard of OZ movie.

Hagar, it really would be a first for me But, in this instance, it isn't, as it really isn't worthy of discussion. I have nothin' to say? Shock, horror tis true

Yes, seven weeks, but I would have rather been gone for three months, but work said no

Cheers Peter

Octane: my quibble is not about IIS policy: it's about Mod hypocracy ('Do as I say, not as I do').
