Yep, like this camera!

Just the mono version for now.

Nice image John. I captured an image earlier on in the day here in NZ but there were less prominences.

so let me get this straight - you are still sticking the camera to the PST. Does it move at all? I might try redoing some solar work using Velcro with the PST – what do you think?

Fantastic image BTW

Cheers David. I'm totally impressed with this camera that's for sure!

Yeah it's still just taped to the PST Pretty tight so no, it doesn't move. Velcro would be ok.

John, I'm using a Tak FS-60C with a Coronado SM40 + BF30 + DMK51.

I do have a Coronado SM90 (Solarmax II) Double Stack using external Etalons on a Williams Optics 102ED refractor and will soon get an adapter to use the FS-102 scope. I have a lot of trees in the way and imaging the sun in the winter is difficult so I tend to use the FS-60C as I can move it around the property easier.

A couple of very nice setups there, George.

I have much the same problem in winter & can only image from 10AM to just after 1PM.

John,

Here is my image taken with the FS-60C + SM40 + BF30 + DMK51, it was taken at the same day as your image (23/06/2013) at 11:17am NZST. Your image would have been taken much later when there was an increase in prominence activity.

Nice work George. The seeing looked to be a bit off, would this be correct? How many are you stacking?

I took 2400 frames and used the best 600. The seeing was not the best as we have had stormy weather for about 4 days. The sun was about 28 degrees above the horizon so it was quite low, my latitude is -40.5 degrees.

I get a better feel for the colour result by doing it my way. Your certainly got the 40% improvement mate.

Here is my color version, probably a little over processed, I'm still learning.

Seeing, & your low Sun elevation isn't helping George. Here in Bundaberg QLD it's just on 42 degrees at it's highest point. I start at 10AM if I can, making the Sun 35 degrees above the horizon at that hour, so it's mainly about that seeing at anything below 45 degrees.

I agree, my low Sun elevation does not help, that is why I have currently been using the SM40 Etalon rather than the double stacked SM90s, plus I have the neighbors trees near the sun's highest elevation which shades my backyard.

In my case, the 40mm PST is a good FL for imaging, even in relatively poor to average seeing.
