How do you send a 50mb file on the internet?

Is there a cheap way to post a 50mb file on the net for someone else to download? I don't think my yahoo email account will send a 50mb image.

I checked yousendit.com but they want $15.99/month.

Greg.

A free Dropbox account will give you 2Gb cloud storage, that should be more than enough for what you want it for.

Greg, what they said. Dropbox. Once it's there go to ur DB account and using the tools there email a link to the file to the recipient. They will be able to access that file without gaining access to anything else u may have stored there.

I agree re Dropbox. It works really well because it links into your computer's filesystem, i.e. it just appears as a normal folder that you can copy files into/from - and the synchronisation happens in the background.

It will also automatically determine what your maximum upload rate is, and back off a little, so that it doesn't saturate the uplink and kill downloads (a bit of an issue with ADSL connections).

If you have multiple computers on the same local network, it will transfer the data internally on the network (without going out to the Internet) to save on uploads/downloads.

Drop box and similar "Cloud" file storage is the modern way. The old fashioned way that may be available depnding on who you are sending it to is via an FTP server.
