Rcw 106

Rarely imaged this is a fine object buried in the glare of the Milky Way.
I might get colour around the new moon period.

8 hrs Ha image STXL-11002 and BRC-250 scope.

Higher resolution here.

That's a faint one Steven! Nice shot as usual. Glad someone's got an STXL110002 that works.

Cheers

That's superb. Obviously this target needs that sort of exposure, to reveal the of nebulosity you have captured.

Well processed by the way, that bright star in RCW 106 is a hard one to keep under control while bringing out the faint nebulosity. Someday when you have time you should write up your processing workflow in H alpha.

Wide field of view so you must have been imaging at 500 mm or thereabouts?

What were your subs?

Once again, a great image of a not too easy target

Hi Narayan,

It was imaged at 1250mm FL but with a STXL-11002 CCD which has the same chip size as 35mm film.
The subs are 10 minute exposures.
The processing is still a work in process as I have only recently gone over to PixInsight.
Prior to that my processing software was nothing more than Photoshop CS2 and a few plug-ins.

Regards

Steven

Thanks Ross.

Unfortunately "unknowns" don't seem to create much interest here.
