Wink Dr Seuss Helix

First go at the Helix in narrowband. I had high hopes for this as I find it such a beautiful object but it's so faint, especially in SII, that I'll have to wait until I'm under dark skies to do it justice.

I preferred this look over a traditional HST palette, I'm calling it "Green eggs and ham"

Ha - Red channel
10x5min + 7x10min

SII - Green channel
1x5min + 7x10min + 3x15min + 17x20min

OIII - Blue channel
10x5min + 8x10min

Taken from Rushcutters Bay in Sydney with my Atik 314L+, SW 120/f5, EQ6

Slightly better version here: http://hughsblog.wordpress.com/2013/...-at-the-helix/

Well done - 17x20min! Herculean effort! There's 3 of my average nights just there....

Thanks, I was determined that it was going to look good but alas even with that much SII data the neb is still quite faint against the background. I figured I could compensate for my light pollution with LOTS of subs but really I just need a trip to dark skies!
