NGC 4945 in good seeing conditions

One of my favourite galaxies.

90m L, 60m R, 60m G, 60m B ST-10XME
BRC-250 scope and ST-X10ME.

Higher resolution here.

Like that.

Excellent intrinsic resolution, and for a refreshing change (from some other posts), no Las-Vegas neon.
Just accurate colour. Nice one.

Really? - I would have preferred a little more
color such as in Gendler's version:

Still - it's great pic - well done.

cheers
Allan

Thanks Peter, Alan, Larry, Alan, Greg and Rick.

Robert Gendler's image is aesthetically superior but it raises an issue that probably deserves a separate thread.
The light from NGC4945 undergoes interstellar absorption which results in the reddish colour. While my image may not carry the same impact, from a scientific perspective the colour is more accurately represented.
Malin's AAO image of the object also shows a uniform red colour, none of the blues and whites as in Gendler's image.

So what is more important, an image that has scientific value or the wow factor. Unfortunately the two are usually mutually exclusive.

I prefer the scientific value.

Regards

Steven
