Space Junk or Meteor in Brisbane skies last night?

A friend pointed me to a facebook post on the seven news brisbane profile last night about many people reporting a strange object in the brisbane skies. Did anyone get a glimpse of this?

I saw it, it was amazing! Im down at gosford nsw. It happened at 6pm and it lasted about 7 seconds. Very bright core with a long firey tail that turned from a blue to orange. unfortunately i was driving so i didnt get a picture.
