Bingo!! There ya have it, you just answered your own question, Yahoo, Hotmail, MSN, ICQ, yadda yadda yadda, all these shareware **** popper free-mail sites are vulnerability conduits in to your sacred little domain, it's a billion dollar industry, stop using them, get the kids off your computer too, no offence Nettie but I have worked in IT for 23 years and it never ceases to amaze me that people are attracted to these "free" e-mail and chat sites. There is no such thing as a free lunch, use these sites along with Kazaa and a squillion other P2P protocols and you open your PC to the world of adware, keyloggers and every other type of scum bag on the internet, don't believe me? If you have broadband and never turn your computer off, then send me your IP address(only because I dont use chat rooms etc and have no way of knowing it otherwise, I'm not a scum bag) and I could install a keylogger on your PC, even with most personal firewalls in place, you just need the right tools and some spare time. Go to
www.astalavista.com or one of a thousand other sites and have a look at whats available, then add ten thousand bored techno savvy teenagers, your PC is an open door right in to your lounge room. This virtual world is no different than real life, you shop at MCDonalds and you'll always get a crap hamburger.
