Vixen VMC200L visual performance?

Been looking for a high quality 6" Mak-Cass and have realised that the VMC200L is approximately the same price as an Intes Micro 6". The Vixen weighs the same despite the larger aperture (no corrector plate of course) and so portability-wise is also similar.

The biggest downside of the Vixen would appear to be its large (40%) secondary, although I've read a number of posts where owners say this isn't an issue (perhaps compared to your average SCT).

Any owners care to share their views? I'm only interested in visual performance.

Cheers.

Only one way to find out. Take it up to Katoomba when you've got it, I've always wanted to look through a VMC

Cheers

They're on sale in the US for $1099 just now. Shame the exchange rate is poor.

It's not that poor, only about 10% worse than the heyday. I remember considering buying stuff when the AU$ was between 50 and 60 US cents…

Cheers

I know it's not an Intes or Vixen, but if you can stomach the moving primary, I can recommend the Edge HD 8" ... it's a versatile scope with smaller secondary, no diffraction spikes, for about US$100 extra. You're welcome to look through mine
