You can't complain about Bintell's service, that's for sure.
I posted and order, with cheque, (No Email Stuff) on Tuesday afternoon, and the stuff arrives with this mornings mail (Friday), now that's what i call service, a big thumbs up to Bintell i reckon.
It depends on whether they have what you want in stock. If they don't you might have to wait for the next shipment from the supplier (or the one after next). I had to wait a couple of months for a Meade eyepiece. Also few weeks wait on a Nagler. Does not worry me if I'm kept informed.
I agree with Janoskiss, as long as you are kept informed the extra wait doesn't bother me. It is when you are kept in the dark you get worried. By the way, another astro shop that is really fast is myastroshop. I have ordered two items from them so far and on both occasions I had the item the next day.
I am currently waiting on an Orion eyepiece from Bintel which has to come in from overseas - I rang yesterday and was told that they will not (or did not) get it in the current shipment, it is now hopefully due in the next shipment, approx 2nd week in July.
I have no problem with the wait - and I acknowledge that they are busy with preparing for the move to the new premises - and the item is only just "due" now and I had phoned them very quickly, but I did have to ring to find out it was delayed. I know they had my email address so I thought I could have been advised of the delay that way, for no additional cost to them. As said previously as long as we as customers are kept informed I for one don't usually mind waiting. I want to stress that all previous dealings with Bintel have been spot on, fast processing of orders and delivery, etc.
I would like to mention that when I purchased my 10" dob it was ordered by phone with Andrew's slightly before lunchtime one day, and it had arrived on my doorstep just after lunch, approx 26 hours later, and that was interstate to the Sunshine Coast (technically a regional area) and not Brisbane - VERY impressive delivery speed! Congrats guys.

I agree, I have dealt with all of the Sydney dealers and some interstate and international ones over the years, and have never had any real dramas worth mentioning with anyone.

Talk about going the extra mile nothing was to much trouble with advise even to the point of test photo's being sent by Email of what I could expect from the setup.The Items were sent express and arrived in Brisbane the nextday
I am still getting after sales support and could not see that changing at all
I've only used Bintel the once - when I purchased my Dob a week or two ago. I ordered late on a Friday afternoon. It was indicated that delivery would be on Tuesday of the following week. When that didn't happen I sent a polite e-mail very late on the Tuesday asking if they had experienced a courier problem. The next morning the shipment arrived so I rang and asked them to ignore my e-mail.
I had two follow up 'phone calls from them asking if all was well and apologising for the delay (thanks, Michael and Rob).
