Dear All
PNV J17335943-3606216 has now been designated "Nova Sco 2013."
I took a spectra of it last night and it certainly is constent with being a nova with a highly reddeded spectra and a broad Ha emission measuring a FWHM of 1830km/sec.
Top work again Terry! High cloud here last night and wasn't successful getting a good image, although remarkably there was a faint response in the right position. It would be very dim I'd imagine for a DSLR.
Follow up spectra from last night. The magnitude has fallen from V= 13.50 I= 9.83 on 4/6/13 to
9/6/13 V= 14.70 I= 10.72
The spectra now has a much stronger Ha line and the Fe lines are now much more obvious.
