Full Moon Airbus A320 transit, 25th May 2013

Hi All,

Here's an Airbus A320 flying in front of the Moon this evening, photographed from my deck using my 70-200mm f/4L telephoto lens. I was waiting for the BBQ to heat up and scanning for aircraft flying near the rising Full Moon. Managed to shoot this sequence just before throwing the sausages and steaks on the grill!

The attached images are a couple of single frames, but I also put together a nice animation (3 MB) which you can see here:

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

Excellent animation Stephen, the heat plumes from the jet engine exhausts have come up really well. Well done on getting all the capture settings correct at such short notice!

Hope you didn’t burn the snags!

Cheers

Dennis

Most excellent work Stephen, sharp as and the jetwash looks great also. Reckon you have taken multitasking to a whole new level.

Very well done.

Stephen - Ace shot!

But, at peril of revealing personal geek-ness, that's clearly an Airbus A320/319.

The extended fuselage behind the rear of the tailplane is the give away!

If you check airport arrival/departure times & your location/line of sight, you may identify who, when (& perhaps confirm 'what')!
