Star Field Mosaic Test with GigaPan

Here again with something very cool.

I uploaded another star field mosaic into my GigaPan viewer to see if this would be a great way to share the full resolution for ya all.

This is a 17 segment mosaic with the Proline 16803 and FSQ. Luminance channel only. 1 hour each segment from my remote observatory in Coonabarabran. Yep, part of the on-going larger project to cover the full area.

Go to Gigapan from the link provided here, but please note:

- Be sure to click on full screen mode from the slider on the left.
- Gigapan does go past 100% zoom a bit so full zoom may look a tiny bit soft. Adjust to your viewing zoom angle pleasure.
- You can pan and zoom all around the image with your mouse.
- This was a quick mosaic combine with few adjustments other than levels and curves which demonstrates Photomerge capability in Photoshop pretty well.

Enjoy the ride!

So nice to be able to zoom in and out and explore such a magnificent field. What next for this area?

Thank you Rob! Next, I'll be adding a lot more segments. 40 or more.

That's really awesome!!! Love how when you zoom in all that white glow turns into individual stars!

Full screen is mesmerising, could not stop staring and moving around. This must be hard work but well worth it.

John.
