Grease and oil change Triffid Test

After a lot of research on how to regrease the LX200 I have just stripped, cleaned and regreased the gears in the LX200, when slewing to an object it was sounding like a very coarse grain coffee grinder now it sounds good like a very fine grain coffee grinder, when tracking it sounds quiet now.

There is a very slight tracking error in the both the RA and DEC drive when tracking so it looks like I need to train the PEC again.

This is a test image to see if it all works ok.

Have you got a photo of your setup?

I have an LX50 and am about to strip it down and clean it up, I hope I get similar results in improving it.
