Eta Carinae Nebula NGC 3372

This is a work in progress I only managed to get around 42 mins of data before the clouds moved in.
It really needs a lot more data so I hope to be able to add to it soon.

I think I am pushing close to the limit of my setup and skills with the alt/az mount with no guiding setup ,
I am hoping to push this one to 2 hours or more of data and see what results.

Eta Carinae Nebula NGC 3372
100 x 25sec subs at iso 1600, darks and bias (42mins total)
12' LX200 (alt/az setup, no guiding)
Sony Nex-3 DSLR
Stacked in DSS
Processed in GIMP
Slightly Higher resolution here ( 44% reduced and JPG compressed to 1.96MB)

That is surprisingly good for such short exposures. Congrats on your hard work. An excellent image.

Greg.

Nice work, using a DSLR. Good colors and shape. It seems you can sharp a bit more some details of nebula. I do it using layer mask, to isolate the area and protect the others parts of image.
