11th June Jupiter 4/10

Hi everone,

Got Jupiter tonight 7:00pm then in came the cloud. Seeing conditions were improving during the 30minutes I was capturing.

First 2 images=5fps gain=70 gama=0 exp=1/25 satuation=50 brightness=30

The last image=10fps and all other settings the same. The seeing conditions looked the steadiest during this capture.

Not bad mate, got something similar earlier but was having not at ambient tube current problems. Not worth posting. I'm doing an all nighter sucker hole hunting..

Good luck Asi,

Hope you get some good ones.

Checked my collimation tonight and didn't have to touch it, man you did a good job.

As soon as I mentioned 'all nighter' it started to rain. Yeah *sigh* my collimation is bang on now too, with nothing to test it on.

No rain here. Clear patch of sky comming, should be over Jupiter in 30 minutes. Clouds moving very slow.

You just got to learn to do the opposite to the rain dance.

Seeing conditions are improving, just one problem the clouds are getting thicker. Got one avi partly through thin cloud at 20fps just to get images as quick as possible.

9.25 Andrew. 10 FPS @ 100 seconds. I saw a few frames in the stack that were absolute rippa's for detail. Considering I was only out there to test my new collimation efforts of late, I'm happy. I know I'm pretty darn close.

0/10 that makes it sound prity ordinary. Some of the patches of seeing would be 6/10. Will try again later if it clears up.

Well please send me those 6/10 patches to me, because I did not see anything like that while I was shooting from 10:52 - 11:01 PM.

Glad some ones getting some..

Great images Lester for some quite ordinary seeing. Just love the rich colour and detail in Jupiter that you are pumping out with the 14" Meade.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks Dennis,

Although the clouds have been hanging around the last week, when I get to see Jupiter on the laptop, it is quite a bit steadier than what we have been getting prior. Okay its still got a long way to go in improvement but prior to this last week some frames in my A.V.I.s, I couldn't even make out the equatorial belts.

Asi I know why I am getting better conditions than you, its all that air pollution you have to look through. You choose to live in those high populated areas, where you cannot even sneeze incase you wake up the neighbours dog.

Thanks Asi,

Joops look good.

Just twigged; I am going to call all mine 0/10 joop's from now on and then the detail will seem real impressive.
