Registax and Autostakkert problems

Registax - I got as far as clicking align and now the screen is white with the little circle rotating telling me it's doing something, but nothing is happening. It's been like that for half an hour. I thought it was aligning and stacking or something and that might take time.... but half an hour? Still going.

I tried to open my .avi's in Autostakkert, but both my Saturn avi and my moon surface avi both come up in the window all skewed and stretched.

&*$#@%

I asked on another thread if any astro dudes in Canberra would be willing to sit with me to help me learn this. Not a single reply. Anyone? Please?

Baz.

Registax; it does some weird stuff at times & your description, I've seen a hundred times over the years. I've never been able to explain why, just is..

Autostakkert - You used the wrong codec Bazza, as in you probably had the debayering in IC capture enabled. You must disable that before capturing.
You can run the AVI's thru Virtualdub to right that wrong though..

I'll have to download it onto the machine in the observatory. If you give me until 9:30pm, I'll be in there. What were you thinking? Shall I PM you my phone number?

Well it's tricky enough just to get the correct version onto the computer. Have a read here > http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/

If running windows, ONLY choose the 32bit version, even if you are running 64bit..

You'll also need winzip to unzip the bugger too lol.

No phone at the moment, sorry.

No worries. I'll go out and have a look at it.
