Found: fast 8" Newtonian

I'm looking for a fast 8" Newtonian, preferably f/4. OTA + tube rings only. No mount. Willing to pay up to about $300 for a GS or Synta make in good nick.

I'm open to other suggestions for a traveller scope with aperture.

your f6 would only be 20cm shorter steve, not that much different. why not just get rings for that?

failing that a mak of 8" but thats gunna be expensive me thinks.

f/4 would be 40cm shorter than the f/6 8", which is quite a lot. I'm thinking I might just get away with an 8" f/4 in hand luggage on a plane, but an f/6 would have no chance. I think an 8" Mak would be way too heavy and expensive.

Got one. Thanks Eric. You won't see any more images from Eric (EzyStyles) for a while. I've got his scope! It's got a date with an angle grinder tomorrow. If I don't stuff it up, it will make a great traveller.

Thanks also to Brian who also offered to help out.
