Lagoon Nebula

Lagoon Nebula, 6 shots of 5 minutes, no guiding on a Paramount MX with QHY8 through a C9.25 XLT. Taken with Nebulosity, stacked in MaximDL, post processing with Photoshop.

Higher resolution is at http://www.flickr.com/photos/skyslab...n/photostream/

I think the focus is not 100% correct. As far as astrophotography goes, C9.25 is terrible without proper “feather-touch” focuser, that gives you 10 extra turns per one original turn.

Anyhow, good try !!!

Ah, excellent - thank you for the comment.

I'm slowly getting there with this and it's great to know what to look at for improvement.

You should be stoked by this result Simon. As far as an SCT image goes, its a ripper. The PMX no doubt has significantly influenced the outcome with nice round stars especially given the focal length you're operating at. Only 30mins of data too. Well done.
