The Sun 2nd May

Hi,

Still trying. Using a layered mask to try to bring out the proms and then lay surface detail on top and perform a brush to reveal the suface of the Sun with prominances still showing but not cleanly done. Comments welcome.

Some very nice detail coming in now Mark.
The easiest way is to take two exposures, one for the disc and crank up the gama and gain for the proms. With the DMK51 I use around 150 gama and have the gain at least double and increase untill the solar edge is starting to wash out. It may be close for your DMK41.
As for processing have a good look at these tutorials.

Let me know if you need help with anything else.
Ralph.

The image looks good to me! Just a little overdone with sharpening, that's all.

As Ralph said about the two separate data collection techniques.
