Lorikeets enjoying a splash!

Hello,

Here are a few shots from the last couple of days of Lorikeets visiting the bird baths in our back garden. They seem to love a good splash!

In the last photo, the bird was too quick for the AF...

Cheers

Dennis

Great catch Dennis. They're back in numbers in my backyard again, same time every year. Seems to coincide with the palm trees sprouting those massive yellow flowers. Seems to attract them in numbers. It's funny to see in your pics that only the tips of their feathers are coloured. They're all grey under there. I saw one once that must have been be in a fight or caught by something bigger and noticed it was mostly grey but for the wings and tail.

Thanks Gary, having a 16 GB CF card makes these possible. I couldn’t afford to burn that much film in order to select the few keepers!

Cheers
