AR1726 21 April 2013 with crud conditions

well today would have to be one of the worst seeing/imaging conditions i have had at home - its also the very first time i used my baader solar wedge.

To see the image of AR1726 through the 127 was a magical experience, then i wacked in the camera, the dmk41. Well i have the white light shots here and they were that bad i coloured them Only had the wedge for 2 years so this was its first light. I wished i had the skill and conditions to make it sing

i have some Halpha stuff as well but yet to process but i think when i get to look at the data again it may not get processed but binned

well here is a small full disk - its very underwhelming

I think it looks fantastic and would look stunning if it were in a frame hanging on a wall.

Hi Dave

When the seeing is bad, there is really not much you can do, even full disc shots can appear soft. Keep on trying, the Baader Solar Wedge is meant to be the bees’ knees for white light solar imaging on refractors.

thanks Dennis, i used the bog standard setup, have yet to experiment with the other filters in the kit, though if someone has some experience with this beastie i would love to hear from them.

solar work is addictive

David we all experience the crappy seeing blues when imaging the sun. Just got to be there ready to go when it sings..
