* Deep Deep Centaurus A image
Rolf Olfsen from New Zealand has created what's likely the deepest ever amateur image of the Centaurus A Galaxy.
With over 120 hours of exposure, captured over 43 different nights between February and May, this image is absolutely superb and highlights many amazing parts of this galaxy:
- Optical counterparts of the radio lobes, including an outer portion of the Northern (bottom) relativistic jet and a faint trace of the otherwise invisible opposite Southern jet.
- The complete shell structure of the extended halo, showing both the faint outer shells and brighter inner ones.
- 709 of the catalogued globular clusters orbiting the galaxy.
- Integrated Flux Nebulae permeating the entire field of view around the galaxy.

Asteroid 1998 QE2 was captured by Jonathan Bradshaw (Astrojunk) in this video complete with meteor and satellite zooming past!

So it's over to you! During May, we had some of IceInSpace's best astrophotographers submit their images. We had an amazing response, with 242 images submitted by 69 different photographers. The quality of images was absolutely stunning - we were blown away by the talent and will be pleased to feature ANY of those images in the 2014 calendar!
David (Astrovisuals) and I have now narrowed those images down to 5 in each category across 13 categories, and now it's up to you! You get to
select your favourite images in each category, and the winning images will be used in the 2014 IceInSpace Astronomy Calendar.
