Much better Jupiter

Hi again. Was a bit annoyed with my Jupiter image last night (had problem with colour settings). Here is an image I just took.

Once again:

Scope: 8" Dob
2X Barlow
Gain: 0
Saturation: 85
Brightness: 50
Gamma: 0
FPS: 15
Stacked best out of ~200 images in Registax. 2nd wavelet adjusted to 40

I don't think I am going to get any better until I get my Tal 200K scope with HEQ5 mount. At least I will be able to track http://www.cloudynights.com/ubbthrea...lins/smile.gif

Hi,

GRS stands out very nicely as well as the different toning between north and south polar regions. Well done.

i would recommend lifting saturation to 100%.
The gain higher and then compensating with the exposure.
It may look a little noisy with higher gain, but registax sorts it out

also focus with the gamma at zero, but lift it to say 10%.

This is a very good capture, well done!

I think the blue fringing at top and red at bottom are due to differential atmospheric refraction. It used to annoy the heck out of me in my early images and then I discovered the RGB alignment tool in Registax. It does a great job of removing this in one easy step. Give it a try.
