Event Calendar launched

Hi all.

The IceInSpace Event Calendar is now officially launched, and you can see it in effect in the left column over there under the IIS1K promo.

It shows the current months calendar, as well as the next 5 upcoming events. You can click on the Event Calendar... link, or any of the events, to be taken to the calendar.

At the moment, myself and Paul (1ponders) are the only ones adding events. Thanks to Paul for helping to add the events you see. In the future, I may allow others to add events as well, but for now if you'd like an event added, please PM myself or Paul.

Other plans for the future include a customisable countdown clock for major events linked to the calendar, integration with vBulletin for birthdays, and some more features in the calendar page itself.

Sorry, I've disabled the Event Calendar mini-calendar in the left hand column for now, as it was causing some unforeseen problems, such as getting a "duplicate post" warning when you use the "quick reply" box.

You can still get the Event Calendar using that link.

Hope to put it back in the next few days.
