Geomagnetic Storm in progress

Just letting you know that there is a geomagnetic storm in progress. Kp4 at present and G1 by the look of the storm. Might go on for some time yet. Pity the moon is in the way tonight.

Even more to the point, Marc. Sydney's "just a touch" too far north.

I thought the 'big ones' could be seen as far as QLD/NSW border? So you reckon driving south is the only way to catch a glimpse of one?

Ha ok. Hopefully we get some for border stargaze or snake valley. I don't go down south that often.

High activity levels tonight. Hills & trees in the way here, plus the bright Moon of course. Anyone see anything?

Cheers -

Storm is raging at present at KP5 If you can get a view without cloud and clear horizon then it should put on a good show if the storm holds out. The prediction is saying it will die off soon but the warning is out for the next 24 hours.

Yep, alerts are going nuts.

I was going to go to the south coast, but, cloud has decided to sweep across the state... again.
