Celestron C11 EdgeHD with Moonlite Focuser

Hi Everyone,

After a great night under the stars with my C11 EdgeHD at the Katoomba Airfield on Saturday, I just came across a Tak Mewlon 250 for sale at a tempting price.

While I LOVE my C11 EdgeHD, I would consider selling it if it meant I could trade up to the Mewlon. I have only a 2 week window to buy the Mewlon, so if anyone is interested in a mint condition C11 EdgeHD OTA, then please let me know.

I bought this scope brand new and has only been out under the stars 4 times. I cannot find a mark or scratch on the body as I am very gentle with the scope and is always stored in its case in my locked office where no-one can look at or touch it! Collimation is still spot-on from factory and I have never had to adjust it. I still have the original box and packaging, making it easy and safe to ship anywhere in Australia.

Included in the sale would be the OTA and all accessories I have sourced to make it a superb scope:

* Celestron C11 EdgeHD (flat corrected field) in mint condition
* Feathertouch primary mirror Microfocuser (about $250 USD)
* Moonlite 2" focuser with tri-knob 10:1 reduction and focus lock in matching Celestron gold/orange (about $500 USD)
* AstroZap powered dew shield
* Pacific Designs padded carry bag/case (Pacific Designs are the OEM manufacturer for Orion soft cases)
* Bobs Knobs collimation screws (not yet installed, still in plastic pack bought from Bintel)

The OTA alone goes for $5699 at Andrews Communications.

I will consider all offers over $4500 on the whole kit for the next 2 weeks. I am happy to ship it anywhere in Australia at buyers cost. I have found these guys good for shipping large scopes (www.smartsend.com.au) last time I shipped my 6" Achromat to Melbourne.

UPDATE: Try http://www.packsend.com.au/ instead, they cover glass breakage.

Cheers

James

I wish there was an emoticon for drool! Can I please ask roughly how much it weighs?

OTA weighs 27.5 pounds. Moonlite focuser probably 2 pounds? The feathertouch focuser doesn't weight much more than the original.

I would budget on about 30 pounds.

I have measured the Celestron box to be 81cm (W), 48cm (H), 49 (D). It says on the side of the box "Gross Weight 16.5kg". So this should be the weight of the scope and packaging and visual back. Maybe make it 18kg to allow for the other bits.
