Meade 750 - Opinions Please

Hi Everyone

Can I please have people's thoughts on the old Meade 750 EQ mount.

Anybody had an opportunity to use one? Or at least see one?

There are so many conflicting posts and opinions on this mount (mainly from o/s). Would like an Oz IIS perspective if anybody has one.

Or should I continue to look for a G11?

hi gavin,
the lx850 is a redisgn of the lx800 which was shipped and had major problems.i know bintel sydney have a 850 which they will use at the moment.but i don't know of any sent to oz yet...my advise speak to michael or don at bintel sydney for any info..

Thanks for the reply.

But I am talking about the old Meade 750 EQ mount.

This was Meade's flagship mount many years ago, I think it came out in 1992 and was the EQ version of the LX 200 Classic.

Anybody?

Gavin , these mounts are awsome! , I have a friend with a 650 and it is a good EQ mount , updatable to the new Meade LX200 programs .
What scope are you looking at putting on it ? as these mounts will take a big scope ! with ease .
