LPI woes

just go myself a cheap LPI. works fine on my desktop puter (2.6ghz,win xp pro, 1 gig ram) but it wont work on my lappy (1 ghz, '98, 256mb ram). I know for a certainty the lappy is powerful enough but the OS might be a let down...

I read somewhere that it requires '98SE or higher. would it be because mine is win 98 and not 98SE that its not working?

autosuite installed fine... i think its just the drivers.

Hey Ving

According to the Meade website the LPI requires Win 98 SE and above, can't help yopu with Windoze 98, I use XP with SP2 when I use the LPI.

Was Win98 a USB OS, or did USB only arrive with 2nd Edition?

Cheers

I'm sure someone round here would have an old copy of 98SE somewhere that you could have ving . I'll have a look through my pile of disc tonight and see what I come up with.

XP will run OK on 256Mb Ving, I have installed XP on hardware a lot slower than your spec. XP will however do a compliance check on the hardware and may refuse to install in some cases (unlikely on your lappy)
