now for something completely different... not, JUPITER 27th May

Hi All, battled broken cloud most of the evening and quite poor seeing of around 3-4 out of 10 (undulating disk 50% of the time and fuzzing out the other 50%). Wouldn't have bothered but it's been a while and I wanted to try the new Hutech focus lock I bought for the c9.25 (seems to work fine).

Quite surprised at the level of detail I could squeeze from one of the avis - the rest are pretty bad but still not as bad as I thought they'd be - given the pretty appalling conditions. Must have been a bit better seeing for at least part of the time that I missed. Anyway, here they are

- same image just with median filtering on the left and no median filtering (hence more grain) on the right.

cheers,

I like the more grain version on the right.

Sounds like we had very similar conditions re the 50% 'big heave' & 50% fuzzed out.

I predict the 900nc will be worth the money I paid for it once it arrives.

Very nice Robert.

Hey Asi, didn't know you'd forked out for the 900nc? Thanks god, you can work out all the bugs and then just tell me what to do ...

I got a link to the Beta version of WcRmac thingy for raw mode etc for the 900nc from DP ... will let you know how it goes

Yeah, don't worry...nothing like a size 10 steel-capped boot to squish those 'bugs' into oblivion..
