Clear night in Sydney...at last

After struggling with motivation to get the gear out in over 18 months, I've decided to bite the bullet and get the old 8" dob out. Here's hoping the sky remains clear

HEY, I've got comet Lemmon up in my 8" dobbie right now!!!

WOOHOO!

The oh so faintest of a tail. But view it over the space of 1/2 hr to 1 hr & its movement is noticeable - how cool.

I'll post my sketches later on.

PS, conditions are pretty good too.

Had some luck with guiding,

here is a quick (just out of DSS and some slight work in Nebulosity) hours worth of the 8 burst nebula.

Cheers

I managed to do a 'time lapse' sketch of Lemmon. You'll find it in this link to the sketching sticky in the Obs Forum. Only my second comet since Halley's. I was surprised at its quick shift in position over the time I was observing it. Rather cool I thought.

Mental.
