Deep into the Trapezium

Hello everyone,

I am sorry that I have not been around but I had taken a bit of a break from imaging for a few months. The weather did not help either along with AIC planning.

I did pick up a few photons on the most imaged nebula in the sky. I wanted to do something a bit different and since there are as many processing choices as images of this target I thought I would try to reveal the details surrounding the Trapezium. It feels good to be able to post something here again and thank you all for your patience with me

This is my personal interpretation of the region around the Trapezium.

Thanks for taking the time to look . . .

Kindest Regards,

So cool. Reminds me of the HST shot of the whole area. The color palette is superb.

Awesome close up of one of my favorite targets. You've really captured the detail in the core and still shown the members of the Trapezium, great work as usual. The colours are perfect too, a truly great image. Thanks for the view.

Beautiful, Ken, and a fine rendition of the remarkable complexity of this nearby HII region:

"Beauty is truth, and truth is beauty"

It is well seen in your image that the dust is not particularly heavy in the Orion Nebula, except in the 'dark bay'.
( Even relatively short-wavelength NIR imaging can 'dig out' many of the obscured stars in the Orion Nebula Star Cluster.)

We have had some very interesting pictures of this neb. posted in this forum e.g. sjastro's UV image that emphasized the dust distribution, and SkyViking's remarkable NIR image showing many of the stars in the cluster.
