12" f4.8 GSO Dob. $500 ONO.

12" GSO Dobsonian for sale. Has 10:1 micro focuser, rear fan (sorry can't find battery pack for it) right angle 8x50 finder scope. Also has a custom 120 degree two vein secondary mount, which is great for eliminating diffraction spikes. I made this and installed it myself.

Scope is a f4.8 from memory (1500mm focal length)

Mount has a little water (dew) damage as it has been used a lot, optics and mirror still appear to be in great condition, if just a little dusty. I have reinforced the mount with right angle brackets to make it a little more sturdy and put in bigger teflon pads. The mount is serviceable, but could probably do with a rebuild at some stage.

I have he standard 25mm, 15mm, 9mm and 6mm plossl eyepieces to go with it. Also magnetic counterweights (speaker magnets) and main and finderscope dew sheids (home made). Dust cover with it, which is basically a fitted double bed sheet. Laugh if you want, but they work fantastic.....! Also standard 2" and 2" to 1.25" adapters.

Why am I selling? Moving house to the Gold Coast and have to reduce what I take with me on the move, and I plan to get something more compact up there.

This has been a great scope, and the workhorse of my observing. I am sorry to have to sell it, but that's the way it rolls sometimes.

Pick up from Tocumwal NSW (on the Vic / NSW border) or I can meet in Melbourne as I travel there once a fortnight. Can also meet in Shepparton and between there and Melbourne once a fortnight.

Asking $500 ONO.

The sale of my house has fallen through, so I am withdrawing the telescope from sale. Want to get a bit more use out of it before I move. Sorry to those who have inquired. Regards, Adam

Sorry about the house, but I guess at least you get to keep the scope!

I just had to say that I use a fitted bed sheet as a dust cover too. You're right; they do work well!
