Out at last - some solar stuff from today

Hi all
It has been the longest gap in my Solar observing / imaging for 3 years! Work travel, family and our crappy weather has been the culprit.
These were taken with the Lunt 60 and DMK51 and I was able to capture a small, short lived flare from the dominant AR (1665) at about 3pm Brisbane time - image 1. Image 2 is the same set up but at a higher Gamma setting - pre flare.
It was very good to be out under the Sun again.

Nice images. May I ask what software and rough settings you used for stuff like exposure time, image selection (# stacked), post-processing, etc?

I use the IC Capture that came with the DMK.
I usually image at exp 1/184. The first disc is at Gamma 55 and the second at Gamma 230. I take about 1000 images.
I use Registax 5 to process - I just use the slider at the bottom to find the best AVI, set the quality to 90% and stack. If the image stack is less than 50 I reduce the quality. I like to stack 70ish images.
My processing is quite quick - top wavelet slider to about 11.
I do a touch of sharpness and a few tweaks in Preview, reduce the size to 75% and done.
I enjoy the record of the day's disc - not hours of processing.
If you have anything else, please ask.

Solar Stuff

Nice going Matt.
Recon image 1 used as a layer mask and refined on disc 2 would look bloody good as David said.
