Wanted to buy an 8" SCT and mount in the Canberra area. I just want it for visual work so if it's an oldie but a goodie , that's okay.

I have what you want. Meade LX200 GPS 8". Well used and it shows a bit. Autostrada hand controller has seen better days. Buttons need to be pressed fairly firmly. Usual 26 mm eyepiece plus maybe one or two more. I think there is a couple I no longer need.
Tripod.
Wedge.
Zero shift focused.
Dewheater.
Custom case built by Davis cases who made the instrument cases for the Antarctic Division. Originally built for an LX50 but fits this scope fine.
Don't know wht I'd expect for it, maybe around $1500.
Only problem is I'm in Hobart, shipping would probably be uncormfortably expensive.

Hi Tanyo,

I am in Canberra and have a Meade Lx200R 8" GPS with UHTC coatings, in excellent working order, with all accessories (automatic focuser, eyepieces, illuminated eyepiece, diagonal etc), field tripod and vibration isolator pads. Upgraded the secondary mirror with Bob's knobs for collimation. I recently sent it to Bintel for a service and they came back saying it had great optics.

I'm happy for you to take a look at it if you like, have photos that I can email to you. It's a great unit. I'd be happy to part with it for $2,000 - but am happy to come to an arrangement with you.
