Many years ago, when I lived in the wheatbelt, some of my colleagues were in a car travelling back to base when the car hit a bull. Fortunately no one was seriously hurt, however, the front passenger had his window fully down and, unfortunately, got showered with bull dung! No bullsh*t!!! Apart from what the passenger wore

Supposedly a true story. I never saw it first hand mind but that was the story going around work.
Another time, the driver arrived at the depot office and advised that he car was run over by a horse! And he said with a completely straight face too.
When we went outside to have a look at the car, sure enough, there was a nice hoofprint on the bonnet and another one on the side panel. Apparently, he saw the horse coming across the road and slammed on his breaks and then the horse jumped on the bonnet to avoid being hit and kicked the side panel on departure.
There were a few funny incidences with work cars, but these are the only two involving large animals, that I am aware of, for the Merredin depot. Unfortunately, there were a few tragic accidents as well. But that happens when you drive hundreds of thousands of kms.
