Howdy
Was looking up what to image tonight when I checked out a little planetary nebula called Wray 16-20 in Puppis, next to Vela. Went fairly deep, 4x 10 mins ISO 800, UHCS and uv/ir filters. I noted that it didnt look like a Planetary, but rather like the other scattered HII regions that appear in the image. Upon consulting blackskies.org they note its no longer considered a PN,

I was surprised to record a fair bit of uncharted stuff as well. The Wray object is dead centre, the larger HII region lower right is RCW31, none of the other areas are charted. I note that next to RCW31 is a bluish possibly oxgen emission area. Star Atlas Pro indicated RCW31 may be connected with Vela Puppis and is 3 x 2 arc minutes in size. Theres lots of little isolated HII regions deep red in colour scattered about. Sure is a lot of amazing little areas of sky in the south. I wouldnt have found it without Star Atlas pro
I finished off the nights imaging by removing the UHCS filter and shooting NGC 5128, 3 x 10 mins ISO 200, this is a crop from the larger sized image. Both pics taken thru 10 inch F5.6 scope, off axis hand guided, Darks flats etc processed in IRIS, and PS CS.
