Running chicken nebula, IC 2944.

Hi,

It was a lot cooler this morning, and with the cooler box for the camera I managed to get 2 hours and 8 minutes of data for IC 2944.

Quite pleased with the way it's turned out, considerably less noise than prevoius images.

This image is cropped.

8" f/4 astrograph, orion mini guider, HEQ Pro 5 mount.

Unmodded canon 1100D baader coma corrector.

8 minute subs at iso 800, total 2 hours 8 minuts, darks frames, flats and bias frames applied.
Median stack in DSS, processed in PS 7.
Cropped image.

Cheers,

Justin.

I haven't tried it yet, Justin. The weather has been overcast so much in Sydney, and on the few clear nights I've been tied up with something else

Nice pic Justin! Amazing amount of nebulosity going there for an unmodded camera.

The 8" F/4 with MPCC looks like a nice combo too.

Cheers,
Cam

Great how much you can enhance the red in PS.

Yet another nice image Justin! You must be having a good run with the weather in Penwortham, or is it the norm there?

Thanks David!

Yes been blessed with cloud free skies for a while now. It's usually pretty good from mid summer to mid autumn.

Cheers,

Justin.
