New Antares Region with 70mm Lens

Had the opportunity to have another go at the Antares region last week using a 70 mm lens.
I stacked 8 (800 ISO) and 12 (1600 ISO) at 75 sec each giving a total exposure time of 25 min. All imaging was done in RAW mode.

Processing done in IP and Levels and Curves in PS. I only used in Camera Noise reduction and Flats were applied.

I can upload a Hi-Res version if anyone requests it, to my web space but atm I'm limited. Let me know though, it's no prob.

Hope you enjoy.
As always I look forward to any comments, suggestions, ways to improve, please feel free.

Cheers

@ Striker

I was using the TAK, I should have mentioned it, but wasn't going thru the scope, the camera was piggybacked on the scope.
I was only roughly polar aligned, not drift aligned.

BTW I took the expiry stiker off Tony.

Thanks for your nice comments guys.

The lens was a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 with a 72mm Lumicon minus violet filter on a stepdown ring, lens was set at 70mm @ f/2.8.

Andrew,
A very nice image of a beautiful area of the sky. Not bad for a zoom lens.

I am curious about the differing ISO's though. To me calibration would be overly troublesome if all you did was average combine the images. The dynamic range is not so great in this area to warrent masking is it?

Anyhow, well done.

Cheers

Andrew,

Very, very, beautiful.

As Tony said, I, too, can see all the colours of the rainbow.

This is one of the most spectacular portions of the night sky.

Well done!

Regards,
Humayun

I had taken two sets of images just in case I didn't get it right, one was 800 ISO and the other set was 1600 ISO. In the end I combined all of them Tony, but I think you're right this region does not have that big a range, like say M42, to need that.

Thanks for your comments guys, really means a lot to me, glad you liked the image.

Hey Asi now I'm cooking with gas ah?

Cheers

Since the weather hasn't been co-operating, I took Bert's advice and reprocessed some old files.
I've rotated the Antares Region frame and did some adjustments to levels and curves.
Kinda like it better.

Beautiful. How do you stack images from a camera? Presume it was SLR.
