Any entomologists on IIS ?

My lovely wife found this beetle in the garden this morning and asked me to identify it.
I've searched the net but can't find anything quite like it.

35mm long and 14mm wide, and rather strinking colours, the pictures don't seem to do it justice.

Anyone know what it might be?

Thanks

Chris

Thanks Matt,

I 'Googled' that and found this site http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisb...iableJewel.htm
which suggests this beetle is a long way from home!

Thanks again,

Chris
