After almost a year I have decided to do some planetary imaging again. Compared to my previous attempts I have made some additional improvements to my equipment.
1. William Optics Crayford focuser
2. 2.5X Powermate
3. Howie Glatter Parallizer (I cannot stress how useful this device is-no flexure when you add the powermate to the image train so your image is still centered when you remove the camera or centering eyepiece)
4. "Bushman" 40% DEET extra strength mozzie repellant (lifesaver)
This shot is from 1500 frames stacking the best 700. The seeing wasn't great and Jupiter is pretty low in the sky so I didnt expect much.
Not bad, John!
It's better than any shot of mine of Jupiter. It has some good detail, but the colour does need correcting a little, I think - there is a definite cast there.
