Managing the shroud on a trus dob - idea

I have an Obsession clone, 20" tryss dob.
One issue it has is that the shround sometimes impinges on the light path, especially once a bit of dew has built up.
One ide I had was to run a set of balustrade wires up the gaps from the corner of the mirror box to add extra support to the shroud. Would this also aid in stiffening the overall struss structure (kind like a string scope) or would they have to be on an angle to help that way?
