NGC 3199 - Big Banana or Pumpkin ?

Hello everyone,

here's an image I did last night of the nebula NGC 3199 in Carina.

The image is a stack of 9 x 4-minute exposures (36-minutes total) with the modified Canon 300D at the 2-inch prime focus of my modified 12-inch f/5 GSO scope. Hand guiding done with 4.5" f/18 guidescope. Used the 2" Baader Coma Corrector and 2" Baader UV/IR Cut Filter.

Dark frame subtraction, bias and flat-fielded in Iris, processed in Photoshop, some Noiseware used.

There's a higher resolution image here

Beautiful Paul, it does look like a pumpkin/jack-o-lantern!

Great detail.
