Here
Here Ye Here Ye,
Announcing the Marriage of Peter (30” Pete) to Helena yesterday at St Faiths Anglican Church, Strathpine. Brisbane.
Much merriment was had, even in the ceremony. A Mexican Wave was generated buy the groomsmen through to the Bridesmaids spanning the whole width of church and then back again as the bride kissed the groom.
I was honoured to be asked by Pete to be one of 10 a groomsmen. Yes, you heard right, 10 groomsmen, there was 40 in the bridal party altogether. Leading the bridesmaids and groomsmen were 20 page boys and flower girls. It truly was a spectacular affair .I wouldn’t be surprised if the Courier Mail did a full page spread on it!!
Members of the SAS attended, you know who you are, along with Dave, Graham and Dr Ian. We all missed you AstroRon!!
The Reception at Oxley’s on the Brisbane River was reached by the bridal party in two Strrrrrrrrrrrrrrrretch Limo’s!!!
Ian Skippen of FM104 Breakfast Show Fame was the MC. Ian is an old family friend of Helena’s.
Ian on a number of occasions through the evening mentioned that size does matter .Peter, in his speech also gave a plug to the maker of his monster --------scope that is!! Regular interjections updating us on the Rugby union score were given causing to crowd to go wild!!
In his speech Father Tom prayed for a reverse miracle, to make water out of wine as the effects were more than evident on his many progeny!!
Peter and Helena are honeymooning in Noosa for a week or two.
They will also be camping at this Years Astrofest. With temperatures up this way being on the low side I think Pete must think that Helena will much warmer to cuddle up to than the 30 !! All the best to the happy couple and congratulations.
This is Zubenel your wedding Reporter signing off.
It is written that the secret to a long, happy and fulfilled married life of unbridled astronomy is, on each and every day, make your beloved feel like the Princess she is, (which we know you already do Peter), and everything else will surely follow.
The seasons come and go, the constellations rise and set and the planets will continue their celestial wander. You can drink to their heavenly glory in the endless chalice of astronomical accessories, upgrades and gadgets, provided your beloved remains the one, the only one, of your Worldly focus.
If you forget just once, the skies will vanish and size won’t matter ‘cos it’ll never see the dark of night again.
And don’t forget, men ARE from Mars and women ARE from Venus!
