Synscan help!

Hi everyone,

I've been having trouble inputting the lats and longs on my synscan controller running version 3.27. I type in my details, which is 115° 83' E 31° 93' S, I get to the end and press 'enter', only for the blinking square to go back to '83' and '93' meaning I need to change it. The only way to get it past this screen is to input a number less than 60 into it, which I'm guessing would throw it out of whack, right?
Now I'm sure there's a simple answer, so please forgive my noobness!
Cheers,
Chris

Hi,

The reason, as you have mentioned, is that you cannot actually have these co-ordinates. The maximum value you can enter for those numbers causing trouble is 59, since there is (are?) only 60 minutes to a degree.

Central Perth is about 31 deg 57' S, 115 deg 51' E.

Cheers

Thanks for that Geoff :-D I half suspected that's why. Just threw me out because the app I use to grab my coordinates came up with those original numbers.

Hi,

That would have been decimal degrees I think in that case, but Synscan is purist

Cheers
