Star trails in long exposures, please help

Hey guys, i just was outside doing some observing, and i set my camera to 15 second exposures. And when i had a look at the final picture it showed long star trails through the Orion nebula. If any one can tell me how to fix this problem, i will greatly appreciate it!

What focal length are you using? Are you running on a tracking mount or just a fixed tripod? If you are using a fixed tripod you need to stick to the "600 Rule" or less. You can read my tutorial about that here http://www.capturingthenight.com/blog/?p=12

Hey thanks for the reply, i use a fixed mount that came with the telescope.
And i just want to take pictures of a few nebula and clusters. Will i need a tracking mount?

Yes, you will need a tracking mount to counter act the Earths rotation.
