Jupiter + Ganymede 9th Dec. 2012

Seeing was variable but it settled out to a 6-7/10 on AVI #6 so at least I got something.

Very nice picture, with details on the moon! What kind of codec are you using? I my self have some difficulties with y800-codec. Debayering produces very "bleak" colors (I use dbk21 color camera, and debayer in firecapture using adaptivesmoothhue and gb bayer pattern).

Thanks Rnulf, Mike & Larry.

Rnulf, plenty of post processing in editing software goes on believe me. Saturate your 'bleak' looking images..

I only use Autostakkert for Debayering (it uses the best known algorithms)/stacking/a touch of post processing in Registax ver. 6 (waveletts) & then onto Paint.net & saturate up, resize, levels etc. etc. etc..

Nice work John, great detail despite the low elevation. I am yet to fire off a single frame at Jupiter for this season. It is just too low down here.

Hi Paul & thanks mate. Yes I fully realize it's pretty damned low at your place. A pity, but we have Saturn coming up soon so I hope to see some nice results from you on that.

Stunning of both Jupiter and the Moon, seriously why did NASA bother sending Juno when we have ASIMOV further more if this was variable seeing then what the hell does 10/10 look like???

Thanks again guys. I think it's very close to my best night of seeing so far this apparition.

Carlos, I've seen rock steady 10/10 a few times but unfortunately I wasn't capturing at the time. I've captured Saturn in 8-10/10 seeing last season but I'd say the majority of frames were a 9/10.
