Astronomy Photographer of the year

Congratulations to Ted Doboz (aka Starcatcher) who's excellent star trail image will now grace the cover of the Harper-Collins publication "Astronomy photographer of the year"

Well done Ted

Thanks Peter, as always there is an element of serendipity and luck whenever astro images are chosen by others. I must say I am pleased and surprised by this outcome!

That is because Ted's imae won in a section in the first year. Those images are from this year.

Santa arrived a little early at our place, seen to be wearing a fluro vest and driving an Australia post courier van.

I dutifully signed for a padded envelope from the UK. Thinking what the heck is this?

It contained a complimentary copy of 'astronomy photographer of the year' !

Harper Collins did a great job. Forwarded by the late Sir Patrick. The print quality is excellent.

It was interesting to thumb through the pages and see so many Aussie images. Certainly a book I would have otherwise purchased
